Delete your Chapter account

Chapter is published by Damon Basler. Deleting your account is permanent and takes effect immediately.

1. In the app (fastest)

Open Chapter, go to your Profile, open Settings and choose Delete account at the bottom. Confirm once. Your account and its data are deleted right away and you are signed out on every device.

2. Without the app

If you no longer have the app installed or cannot sign in, send a deletion request through the support form or by email to contact@chapter-bookclub.app. Write from the email address your account uses, or tell us which one it is, so we can find the right account. We confirm the deletion by email within 30 days, usually much sooner.

3. What is deleted

Everything tied to your account: your login and profile (name, email, picture), your reading shelves and progress, your notes, comments, reactions and reviews, your book club memberships and any clubs you own, your notification settings and device push tokens. Notes and progress you shared inside a club are anonymized, as described in our privacy policy, so nothing in them points back to you.

4. What is kept, and for how long

Purchase records for Chapter Premium are held by Apple or Google as part of your store account and follow their retention rules; deleting your Chapter account does not cancel an active subscription, which you manage in the App Store or Google Play. Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics contain no personal data. Retention periods are set out in our privacy policy.
