Chapter started from a simple frustration: reading together was beautiful, but someone always read ahead. We wanted a place where pace didn't matter — only presence.
The Backstory
Every book club has that member. The one who finishes in a week and can't help themselves. The one who says “I won't spoil it, but…” and already has. We know, because we were that member.
Chapter was built so that the conversation could happen alongside the reading — not after, not ahead, but precisely at the same page. Notes unlock as you read. Progress is visible, never a race. The circle stays tight no matter how different everyone's pace is.
We built this in the margins of our own reading schedules. It's an app made by readers, for readers — and for the group chats that never quite captured what a good book deserves.
